- אֲחִיָּה(b. h.) pr. n. m. Aḥiyah, several men of various periods. 1) Shek. V, 1 א׳ על הנסכים A. superintendent of the Temple libations (wines, oils). 2) Ber.63b A., a Babylonian scholar opposing Palestine authorities. 3) ובי אחייה R. A., a Tannai. M. Kat. 20a; a. e. Ibida> ר׳ חייא לחודוכ׳ R. Hiya (although a Chald. abbreviation of Aḥiyah) and R. A. are two different persons.
